Arturo J. Quinones-- USCG 100 Ton Certified Captain
Certified ASA Sailing Instructor, & Competitive Regatta Sailor.

Arturo was born and raised on the East coast of Puerto Rico.  Because of his innate love of everything ocean, his father gave him his first Sunfish sail boat at the age of nine.  At the age of 15 he began sailing on a J24.  During this time he began competitively racing in regattas throughout the Caribbean and trained for the Central American and Pan American games as a foredeck.   At the young age of 17, Arturo began sailing larger vessels to the U.S. mainland.  During his travels to the mainland, he gained recognition as an experienced competitive sailor and was invited to join a the Akela Race Team based out of Philadelphia, participating in the semi-annual Newport to Bermuda and Annapolis to Newport Race.

2000--Arturo began working as a crew on charter snorkeling vessels in Puerto Rico

2009--Arturo became a certified ASA sailing instructor 

2010--Arturo became a USCG 100 Ton Master Captain, with a sailing endorsement.  At this time, he began working as a full time captain on the East Coast of Puerto Rico.

When not sailing, Arturo enjoys surfing, paddle boarding, traveling and spending time with his three rescued doggie daughters.  Arturo is fully bilingual in both English and Spanish.

Katie E. Block--Office Manager

Katie was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland.  As a teenager, Katie fell in love with everything Puerto Rico and the Caribbean during family vacations to the islands.  After traveling around the world, Katie decided to make Puerto Rico her home.  Katie has over 20 years experience in the hospitality industry, bringing her expertise and passion to all aspects of our service at Sandy Bottoms.  She is a certified in ASA 101 & 103 sailor.  Katie runs our business operations, and will be your concierge for your voyage!
